Week 1
I survived my first day jitters and *actually* made friends. It’s been a long time since I’ve met new people so it was an actual concern. I feel feral a lot of the time sooo.... 🤷♀️
I DROVE A TRUCK!
I made it known to my instructor & class that I’ve been watching someone drive these beasts for a year and I’ve totally built it up in my head. The suspense was killing me and I had to explain myself when I screamed “I volunteer!!” in response to the simple question of “does anyone want to drive today?”
Not to overdo it with a tiny celebration dance or anything, but I also got to drive the 10-speed back and forth for awhile. *squeeeeeee*
I got FABULOUS feedback from my instructor. He said he could tell I’ve been onboard for a year because I was already doing things he‘s supposed to teach us about. Arggghhhhh...best compliment ever!
I spent an entire day yesterday trying to get documents together to prove my residence in Colorado so the DMV will issue me a permit/license. If anyone knows of a good solution for mail/residency issues for those of us who travel 100% of the time LET ME KNOW.
I took my general, air brakes, combo, tanker, and doubles/triples tests at the DMV today and passed ALLLLLL of them!! It’s a Christmas miracle! I officially have a shiny new *ahem* folded piece of paper that says I can drive big heavy things. 🤗
I celebrated by finishing up some required reading and spending time with this stunning gentleman.
That is all.
Thanks for reading, friends!
