November

…and just like that, winter is here. Not officially of course, but go ahead tell that to my -6 wind chill morning of two weeks ago!

11pm with a full moon

We’ve been busy with some winterizing projects and making sure all of our critters are comfy and cozy and happy.

For example, this cat hotel I erected in the shop!

“Eh, 3 stars. I suppose I will grace it with my presence.”

-Anna the Piranha

…and I hoisted this conveniently sized piece of lumber up in my chicken coop so that the snow would just effortlessly fall off the sides instead of caving our shade cloth in. Brilliant!

That’s nowhere near what actually happened, but with the help of a stepladder and a high powered leaf blower (thanks PK!) I was still able to rid it of the extra pounds of snow before it was forever rendered useless. Still a win.

We also did THIS, which was very worthwhile! 😆

Next stop, Iditarod, obviously.

The boy was a doctor for Halloween, or possibly a veterinarian. Depends on who was asking.

I was most excited about the fact that we could wear 100 layers under this if needed. Turned out not to be necessary as it was a lovely evening for trick or treating, but still nice.

…and not to be forgotten, this guy went as the doctors’ unruly assistant.

…Spider-Calvin!

Husband had an excellent back story about radioactivity and an unfortunate lab accident and the pre-Spider-Man era, but we opted not to explain the whole story to everyone who was handing out candy. Sorry babe.

To sum things up, happy belated Halloween & hope everyone is excited & ready for winter things. Cheers y’all! 💙
