Remington Tower
Every time we drive through Tulsa, I notice this building outside of the city that has super obvious & significant damage to the windows & outside brickwork. I have now been noticing it for almost two years, so I decided to finally check it out.
This, folks, is Remington Tower.
She is 18 stories tall and was built in 1983, home to various businesses; an interior design company, a collection agency, a plumbing company, etc.
In the early morning hours of 6 August 2017, she sustained a direct hit from an EF-2 tornado, causing so much damage that it was initially said she would have to be demolished and rebuilt.
Engineers have since done a full inspection and said that aside from obvious cosmetic damage and concerns about interior water damage and subsequent mold, the building itself was structurally sound.
On 29 March 2020, it was announced that the tower had been sold to an LLC based out of Colorado, and they plan to turn the building into a luxury apartment complex.
Thanks for reading y’all, and happy Friday! ♥️
