Success!
We're back home! We spent 3 days in Arizona last week/weekend visiting family, and aside from our marathon road trip for the total solar eclipse back in August, this was our first legitimate, multiple day, planned road trip. Kiddo did SO great! Arizona is a good 14 hour drive away with minimal stops, so we were a little nervous about how to keep our tiny person happy. Ultimately, we violated a rule we've learned to never typically break, which is NEVER DISTURB A SLEEPING BABY, but staying ahead of the crankiness by stopping every 2-3 hours to let him stomp around, regain some blood flow to his bum, and nurse proved to be the winner. Such a trooper.
In addition to visiting with mom & grandma, we met up with two of my awesome cousins, who I've not seen in 10+ years & one of which has a new kiddo of her own. So cool to catch up with some ladies I haven't seen in so long as well as meet some new members of the family I hadn't yet had the chance to. Thanks to everyone who made this trip and meet up possible!

We took a new route home through Fountain Hills and Payson. It started getting dark before we made it back up to Hwy 40, so we missed out on some sights, but really enjoyed the parts of it that we did see. Sunset was particularly gorgeous, as desert sunsets tend to be.
Until the next adventure, cheers all!
